Videos (Vimeo)

Some of our pages show videos from Vimeo.com, Inc., 330 West 34th Street, 10th Floor, New York, New York 10001, USA ("Vimeo").

Before you start a video, your browser does not contact Vimeo. Our server asks Vimeo (oEmbed) for the preview image and delivers it itself; no data about you is sent to Vimeo.

Only when you click "Play video" (on our Swedish pages: "Spela upp videon") does your browser load Vimeo's video player from Vimeo's servers – for that video only, and for that page view only. If you turn your device, the same video may load in the other orientation. We store nothing about your click.

Vimeo then receives your IP address, information about your browser and device, the address of the page and the time. We embed the player with "Do Not Track" switched on. The player may still send information about playback to Vimeo. Depending on its settings, your browser also sends Vimeo any cookies Vimeo stored on your device earlier, for example because you are logged in to Vimeo; "Do Not Track" does not prevent this.

When the player loads, the following cookies and entries in your browser's storage may be saved on your device. Most of them protect Vimeo's service against automated access (bots); for this, Vimeo uses Cloudflare. These are:

  • "__cf_bm": a cookie set by vimeo.com; deleted 30 minutes after your browser last contacts Vimeo; used to recognise automated access.

  • "_cfPre_tabId": an entry in your browser's session storage, set by player.vimeo.com; deleted when you close the tab; part of Cloudflare's security check and not created every time the player loads.

  • "cf.turnstile.u": an entry in your browser's local storage, set by challenges.cloudflare.com; kept until you delete it in your browser; part of Cloudflare's security check.

  • "cf_clearance": a cookie set by vimeo.com; deleted after one year; records that your browser passed the security check.

  • "__cf_ob": a cookie set by vimeo.com; deleted when you close your browser; Vimeo does not state its purpose.

According to Vimeo, depending on how the security check goes, the player may also set these cookies: "player_clearance" (Vimeo; seven days; protection against automated access) and "_cfuvid" (Cloudflare; until you close your browser; limits excessive access). Details: https://help.vimeo.com/hc/en-us/articles/26080940921361-Vimeo-Player-Cookies

The legal basis is your consent, which you give by clicking "Play video" or "Spela upp videon" (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). For storing information on your device and reading it, consent is required by the national rules implementing Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive – in Sweden, chapter 9, section 28 of the Electronic Communications Act (2022:482).

Vimeo processes the data as an independent controller.

Your consent covers only that one video and that one page view. You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future: "Stop video" ("Stoppa videon") ends playback and removes the player. The cookies and storage entries stay on your device for the lifetimes given above; you can delete them in your browser at any time.

Vimeo.com, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has found to ensure an adequate level of protection.

However, some of our business partner organisations, subcontractors and subsidiaries are situated outside EU/EEA. Sharing data to such collaborators, for example Google, Facebook, Pinterest and TikTik means that personal data may be transferred to a third country outside the EU/EEA area.

The transfer will take place in accordance with current privacy protection legislation, including the GDPR, in order to maintain an appropriate level of protection in the processing of personal data.
